Check the location before preparing the wall

Confirm that the wall is an appropriate decorative surface. Avoid floors, constantly wet shower areas, direct flame and excessive heat. A backsplash near an appliance needs to meet both the tile guidance and the appliance’s requirements; decorative tiles are not a substitute for heat protection.

Inspect the sheets and plan the layout

Measure the wall and mark a straight starting reference. Do not assume that the worktop, cabinet or inside corner is perfectly level. Plan the finish at exposed ends and identify any very narrow cut pieces that could be avoided by adjusting the starting position.

Clean, dry and prepare

Work steadily and inspect the joins

Press and smooth as directed, paying attention to edges and the points where sheets meet. If something does not sit properly, pause and identify the cause. Repeatedly removing and reapplying a sheet can affect adhesion; do not assume repositioning is unlimited.

Finish around the planned boundaries and check the wall from both close up and across the room. Follow any product-specific instructions before exposing the finished area to normal use. Avoid adding glue, sealant or cleaning chemicals unless they are recommended for the product and location.
